All That Jazz Blog Hop + Giveaway!

Welcome, Everyone!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Aren't you just SO JAZZED about this release? See what I did there?!

This release has some really unique pieces in it, and I had so much fun creating with them! You can find the entire release here.

Let's get to the first card:

Everyone loves a good rainbow, am I right? This card uses the Tags, Etc. die, the Polkadot background stamp, and one of the stamp sets from the Counting Blessings prior SOA release. I inked up the background stamp with several colors of distress ink and then applied my CPD premium cardstock over the background and used a firm hand to rub in the inky goodness.

I then cut out a piece using the large tag die and stamped one of the sentiments from the Autumn Blessings stamp sets. You can add little embellishments around your tags with the small images from this stamp set--they are the perfect size! I added some shiny black ribbon to the tag and then added some black Tonic Nuvo drops. I mounted the tag on top of the polkadot background to finish it off!

How do you feel about watercolor looks? If you're like me, you love every.single.one.

I used a technique for the first time on this card--and if you haven't tried it, YOU MUST!! I took a piece of watercolor paper and laid it flat on my work surface. Then, I used my Zen Garden reinkers to drop a few drops of ink on to the paper, and then used my water sprayer to spray the living daylights out of the panel. And of course, you can guess what happened. The color moved and mixed together and created this lovely watercolor goodness!

I then used versamark ink and white heat embossing powder along with the images in the Bloomin Bouquet stamp set to create the rest of the background. I trimmed it down and mounted it on a cut and scored 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base.

To create the sentiment, I just stamped one of the sentiments from the Grateful Heart stamp set and trimmed it down to a smaller panel, then mounted the sentiment panel with foam tape on to the card to finish it off.

Last but not least!

You must buy all the black tie gala patterned paper. I'm telling you guys--this stuff is pure gold!! This card was SO easy to create, and you can easily incorporate this technique into other cards with patterned paper.

Cover a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base front with adhesive, and then take 4 sheets of the patterned paper and lay them on to the card base, varying the angle, but always using the corners to line up with the corners of the next piece. After you've covered the entire card base, trim off the excess patterned paper.

Pull out that new ink pad and fall in love all over again! Ink up a large sentiment stamp (I used one from the Bloomin Bouquet stamp set) and then stamp it on to a white panel. Trim down that white panel and mount it on to the black and white card base using foam tape.

VOILA!! You're all done! So simple, quick, and easy to pull together!

  16. I love the multicolored polka dots, well, actually I love all your backgrounds. I would not have thought to mix the black and white patterns to create a background. It's so bold and fun, but doesn't compete with the sentiment! Thank you for another cool idea.
