WOW + Stamp of Approval Blog Hop!

Hey there, Stampers!

Welcome to my blog!

I'm excited to share today's cards with you as part of a collaboration between Catherine Pooler Designs and WOW.

If you're not familiar with either the Catherine Pooler Designs products or the WOW products, you can head here to check out Catherine's shop and here to check out the WOW shop.

Today's cards feature a previously released Stamp of Approval collection from Catherine Pooler and some fantastic embossing powders from WOW.

I thought it would be fun to create a notecard set for today's project, so I trimmed down some white cardstock pieces to be a little smaller than a 4-bar size.

I stamped the images from The World Awaits set in Versamark ink on to my cardstock, and then used various colors of WOW Embossing powder. I heat set the images until the powder melted and then set them aside to let them cool.

To give some fun interest to the notecards, I used the Postage Stamp Dies to cut out my cardstock panels. I then cut a few standard 4-bar size cardstock mattes, and used an ink blending tool to apply various Catherine Pooler inks to the edges. I chose inks that coordinated with my embossing powders, and check out the match?!?! Couldn't have planned it any better!

I used a gray copic marker to outline and blend out the edges of my embossed images to make them pop off the card a little more. This is a great trick to have in your arsenal if you feel like your card is falling a little flat. Adding a cast shadow with your copics can step up the entire card quite a bit.

I then used the same inks and stamped a sentiment from the same set on to a cardstock strip and cut a "v" shape into the end, creating a banner. I popped that sentiment banner up with foam tape and adhered it down to my card. For the bright yellow card, I used a blank ink because I knew the yellow would be just a bit too bright with everything else going on in that card!

I glued the embossed card panels on to my larger ink blended panel, and then glued that whole assembly on to a cut and scored 4-bar note card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! We have a some fun prizes lined up for you, so here are the details!

WOW is giving away any 6 powders from your choosing along with a WOW carry case to store you powders safely in!

You're A Star!

Hey Friends!

Welcome back!

I've got another card to share with you today that uses some of the fabulous products from the new Catherine Pooler Sunny with a Side of Sparkle release! You can find the entire release here.

Anytime I'm feeling in a creative slump, I always busy out my alcohol inks for a beautiful, low-effort background. I used my favorite rainbow combination of colors for today's card and then used the Starlight Dies set to cut out star windows in my background.

(My favorite rainbow color combination of Alcohol Inks is Flamingo, Sunset Orange, Sunshine Yellow, Limeade, Sailboat Blue, and Purple Twilight).

I turned that background over and then put a TON of foam tape on the back before laying it down on to a cut and scored 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base.

I then used the Starlights stamp set to create the sentiment piece, trimmed it down and also adhered it with foam tape before laying it down on my card. I used the word die from the Starlight Dies set to cut a few white layers of the word, stacked them on top of each other, and then stamped out the "star" word from the stamp set on the top layer. I then glued that stacked sentiment down to the card to finish everything off!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and be sure to check out the new release!

Happy Crafting!

Sunny with a Side of Sparkle Blog Hop!

Welcome to my blog!

Today is such an exciting day, so I hope you're ready for another really great release! The newest Catherine Pooler products are available for purchase now! You can find the entire release here.

For our first card, I couldn't wait to break out that BEAUTIFUL patterned paper! Can we just take a minute to realize that I JUST CAN'T EVEN with this paper and the fact that it coordinates with CP Inks!! When I opened the package, I seriously said out loud, "You just shut your face with this stuff, Catherine." The products just keep getting better and better.

When you've got patterned paper that you're not quite sure what to do with, my advice is to go clean and simple--and that's exactly what I did for this card. I cut some square pieces of the patterned paper, mounted them with fun foam and then glued them down on to my 4 x 5.25 inch card panel. I then chose a sentiment and heart image from the Bon Voyage Stamp set (an item in a previous SOA collection also being released!) and stamped it in Grape Crush, one of the coordinating ink colors. I cut a 4.25 x 5.5 inch piece of the patterned paper and glued it flat on to a cut and scored 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base to finish it off.

For the next card, I incorporated one of my favorite techniques--foiling! I used some transfer gel on the Twisted Sunburst Stencil and then ran it through my laminator with a piece of foil once the gel had dried. I trimmed it down to 4 x 5.25 inches and then adhered it on to a cut and scored 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base.

I stamped some of the images from the Say It In Diamonds set with Grape Crush and All that Jazz inks and then trimmed them down. I also created some matte pieces to go behind the images by cutting out some scraps slightly bigger than my diamond images and applying the matching inkes on to the edges. I then popped the assembled piece up with fun foam and glued them down on to my card panel.

Now, on to the PRIZES!

Heffy Doodle Birthday Blog Hop!

Hey Heffy Doodlers!

Can you feel the excitement?! It's our first birthday and we've got a great party lined up for you!

It has been such a fun experience to have a small part in the rise of this company. Lesley (our fearless leader and captain of all things Heffy Doodle) is one of the sweetest and most adorable people I know, and I am just so tickled to see all the good things that have come her way as a result of her hard work.

You can't have a birthday party without a birthday card, am I right?! So today's card is all about birthdays.

Confession: I am about to lose my mind with how many scraps of cardstock I have lying about in my craft room! So I was determined to put those to good use! You don't have to waste any of your scraps if you don't want to, and here's a great way to recycle them.

I cut up a bunch of my cardstock scraps into thin strips. I glued and placed them on to a trimmed cardstock panel (4 x 5.25 inches). I laid them on a diagonal angle so I could hide the fact that I'm not the best at making any straight lines!

After I was done creating the background, I cut out two different scallop pieces using a Lawn Fawn scallop die. I glued those on to the card panel and then worked on my images. The newest Heffy Doodle release has a fantastic birthday themed stamp set, so I was excited to use it! I stamped them in a copic safe black ink and then colored them in with my copic markers. I used the matching die set to cut them out and then added some fun details with a white gel pen

I used some foam tape to adhere my cake images on to my card panel to give some fun dimension. I then used one of the sentiment stamps from the new release to make my greeting. I trimmed it down and then mounted it on to the card using foam tape as well.

To finish off the card, I glued the entire panel on to a cut and scored 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and let's get to the good stuff on the birthday blog hop details!

Heffy Doodle June 2018 Release

Hi There!

So glad to have you here on my blog today. If you've just come from the Heffy Doodle Blog, then you're in the right place!

This new release is just so amazing. Some great brand new products that we've never had before like stencils and background dies, in addition to adorable new stamp and die sets, of course. :) You can find the entire release here

The card I made for today showcases the new Oceans of Love stamp and die set.

I stamped my images in a copic safe black ink and then colored them with my copic markers. I used the matching dies to cut out the images and then set them aside.

I also created a watercolor panel by smooshing distress inks on to an acrylic block, spraying the block with water and then pressing the block on the watercolor paper.

When it was dry, I trimmed down the panel a bit and set it aside.

I cut a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card panel of white cardstock and then die cut a square window out of it, using a Lawn Fawn stitched square stackable die.

I mounted the window piece on to the watercolor panel with foam tape so that there was some dimension to the card. I then adhered my images around the assembled card panel, alternating with foam tape and liquid glue, making sure that the images could be popped up off the card on the watercolor area, but flat against the white window area.

After the images were all adhered to the card, I stamped the sentiment and adhered the entire panel on to a cut and scored 4.25 x 5.5 inch card panel.

Now let's get to the blog hop details!

One lucky winner will receive a £50 voucher to the Heffy Doodle store. Leave a comment on each stop on the hop to qualify. The winner will be announced on Friday, June 8th on the Heffy Doodle Blog.
