For today's card, I used the Freshly Picked stamp and die set, along with the Pearfect Sentiments stamp and die set.


I began by stamping out the images in different dye inks and then used the coordinating die set to cut out the images. I set them aside and then created the small watercolor panel by smooshing some dye inks on to a piece of acetate, spraying it with water, and then pressing the acetate down on to my white cardstock piece.

After arranging and gluing down my images to the watercolor panel, I set it aside and worked on the card base.



I cut and scored a white 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base and then chose a piece of patterned paper from the Back to Basics paper pack, trimmed it down and then adhered it to the left side of my card base. I chose a small piece of pink cardstock and trimmed it down to a small strip. I glued it down alongside the black and white piece to create a finished edge.



After glueing a piece of foam on to the back of my watercolored panel, I adhered that panel down to my card base, off-setting the placement just a bit. I finished off the card by stamping and diecutting a sentiment from the Pearfect Sentiments set and adhering it down to the card with a bit of foam tape on the back.

Thanks so much for joining our blog hop today! You should have arrived from Tracy Freeman's blog.

Studio Katia has a fun new release with some exciting products - including a brand new 6x6 paper pad and slimline card dies!

For today's card, I decided to use the new Dotted Slimline Set 2 dies and the Flourishing Note stamp and die set.



I cut three different panel elements from three different pieces of colored cardstock: Blush, White, and a light gray. These were all cardstocks I had in my scrap pile and any color would work for this design!

After glueing the two smaller die cut pieces together, I adhered a piece of foam on the back and then glued that down to the largest die cut piece.



I then embossed the image from the stamp set on to a piece of white cardstock, used the coordinating die to cut it out, and then fussy cut around the bottom outside edge of the floral image and cut away the envelope portion of the image.



I glued down the floral images to the top and bottom portions of the card and then finished off the card by die cutting a "hello" sentiment and gluing it down, centered on the card.

I'm so pleased to be joining this blog hop today to spread the love for the most recent Heffy Doodle release!

I used the Otter Side stamp set and the Stormy Seas stencil to create today's card, so let's get right down to it!


I slipped the stencil over a cut and scored 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base and used an ink blending tool to apply distress oxide inks on to the card, turning the stencil two additional times and using a lighter color of ink. From bottom to top, I used Mermaid Lagoon, Broken China, and Tumbled Glass.



I then stamped images from the Otter Side stamp set on to scrap white cardstock and then colored them with my copics before using the coordinating die set to cut out the images. I then glued them on to the stenciled card base and then went to work on the sentiment.



I used the You are dies to cut out the first part of the sentiment. I glued it it down to the top of the card and then stamped phrases from the Otter Side stamp set underneath it to finish off the card!

Welcome to my stop on the Studio Katia blog hop to take a closer look at the newest release!

I hope you'll go by the Studio Katia shop and check out all the products in the new release here. So many fun goodies to add to your crafty stash!

On the blog hop today, we've got lots of fun projects and inspiration lined up - and of course, a chance to win some prizes!

For today's card, I created a simple shaker card which I hope you'll be inspired to try and make yourself. I don't make a lot of shaker cards because they tend to be more work than I want to put in on a card, but this one was pretty simple to put together.

So let's get to it!

Now, here's where you need to plan out the shaker window.

Place your card base on your surface, and lay the stamped window panel you just created on top of that card base. Using a pencil (and a light hand!). trace the cut out heart window area on to your card base. This traced area will tell you where you need to put your shaker bits and pieces!

Now it's time to create the background of your cardbase where the shaker bits will settle.

I tore several strips of washi tape that I had in my stash, and placed them in the traced area of my card base like this:


Having those pencil lines there helped me make sure I was covering the area that would be visible through the top window, but it also helped me not waste washi tape (since this one happens to be a favorite of mine!).

Now, it's back to the window stamped panel!

Turn your panel over and apply adhesive around the outside edge of the window you have cut. Next,  using the new Acetate Sheets, cut a piece of acetate to cover the window and lay it down flat on the adhesive you just applied like this:



Going back to your washi tape cardbase, apply double sided foam tape around the window you traced (and the same area that is now covered in washi tape). Continue to apply foam tape around the rest of the card, until the entire base (except the exposed washi tape part) is covered.

Now, select your shaker bits and pour them into the empty washi tape area! I chose the Poseidon Crystals, Red Hearts Crystals, Blossom Sparkle Crystals, and the Majestic Sequins embellishments since they were perfect for this valentine's card!

Take your stamped window panel (with the acetate over the window) and now lay it over your card base, lining up the edges and pressing down on the foam tape to secure everything in place.

Time for finishing touches!

To create the frame around the window on top of your card, tape together the two Fancy Scallop Hearts die pieces, leaving a bit of a gap all the way around like this:

I had so much fun creating today's card, so I'll get right to it!


I was so excited when I saw this House Builder Die - it is so unbelievably amazing! It comes with so many pieces and options to customize your house. It can be used to make shaped cards OR the house is also small enough to fit on the front of an A2 (4.25 x 5.5 inch) card.

So really this card was simple to put together from the standpoint that I just cut out the pieces with my die cut machine and then glued them together. These dies are also a fun way to incorporate patterned paper, which is another obsession of mine! And using this die is also a great way to use up scrap paper in your stash because a lot of the elements of the house are pretty small.

Here are a couple tips I picked up along the way with using this die:

1. Ink Blend for Added Dimension

After you cut out your pieces, they can fall a little flat sometimes. So pick up an ink blending tool or a sponge dauber and blend some ink around the edges of the die cut pieces to give them some added dimension! This will help them pop off the base of the house a little better!


2. Add Colored Pencil Details for Added Texture

Using a colored pencil in the same shade as your die cut piece, you can lightly scribble on some lines to your die cut pieces to give them the look of texture. I did that with some of the window pieces to give them the look of wood grain.

3. Use the Photo from the Website for a Guide

Sometimes a large die set like this can be overwhelming and confusing, so utilize the product photos on the website to help you know what function all the pieces are supposed to perform! But the GREAT thing is that these dies are sized and designed so that some of the pieces can pull double duty and serve multiple functions.


For instance, you may notice that the sample photo here from the website does not contain a flower box underneath the two windows on the first floor of the house. And it also contains a nice detail piece over the front door. Well for my card, I used that front door piece as a flower box for the first floor windows instead!

I chose to keep this a shaped card, so I die cut another house panel and then used one of the dies in the set to create a hinge piece and glued one side of the hinge to the top of the under-side of the first decorated house panel. I then glued the other side of the hinge to the top of the other plain house panel to finish things off!

I've got some cute projects to share with you that really show off these papers and stickers, so let's get to it!

I definitely have a soft spot in my heart for patterned paper, and that's mainly because I believe that patterned paper takes most of the hard work out of cardmaking. When a collection like this comes along, it's even better because everything coordinates together and makes it even easier!

For all of these cards, I cut out some different portions of the patterned paper to assemble some Clean and Simple Cards. The wonderful thing about these cards is that the possibilities are literally endless when you create!

Oh, you guys. I just can't even with this new release. Anyone who knows me knows that I love to color, and all the line art on these new stamp sets just set my coloring heart aglow!!

I'm not even going to drone on about how awesome the release is because seriously the products speak for themselves, so let's get to it!

The images in these stamp sets are easy to color and really easy to arrange so you can make great scenes. Just color, die cut, and arrange! Here's how I did mine:

And I just love that sentiment--so much fun! Makes me think that I'll send this card to a friend who will hopefully picture me standing on my porch waving to them in the form of this card!

It's a great day to be a papercrafter, isn't it? This newest Stamp of Approval collection from Catherine Pooler will NOT disappoint!

So let's get right to the cards, cause these products are just fantastic!

For the first card, I used some products from the Leave Me in Paradise stamp set and the Good Vibes Border stamp set. To start off, I cut a card panel of 4.25 x 5.5 inches. I then stamped out the border images at an angle to create the look of patterned paper. Confession: I'm obsessed with stamp sets like this because they are SO versatile and I love using various images with various colors to create some really unique looks.



Next, I stamped some of the leaf image from the Leave Me in Paradise set and then used the matching die set to cut them out.

Here's where I had to think ahead a bit. I knew I wanted to mount my leaf images with foam tape and pop them up off the card, but I was concerned about being able to stamp my sentiment with enough room and in a straight manner, so I went ahead and did the sentiment at this point. A lot of times, I'll leave the sentiment  for the last step, but I figured this would be a better plan of attack!



I stamped the sentiment in the new ink color and then assembled my leaf images, alternating the position. I glued some of them flat on to the card panel and then mounted some of them with foam tape and arranged them around the left side of the panel. I adhered the panel on to a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base and called it good!

For the next card, I was so inspired by the beautiful sunsets I saw while on my vacation to the beach, that I just had to incorporate that feel into a card! I used the Fearless Pursuit dies and the Tropically Yours stamp set for this card.



I masked off a bottom area of a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card panel and then used several Catherine Pooler inks (Party Dress, Tiki Torch, and Flirty Fuschia) and a ink blending brush to create the sky. I then switched my mask to the top part that I just ink blended and then used Aquatini and All That Jazz inks for the water.

I then cut a piece of scrap paper and covered it with black ink before gluing it on to my panel for the look of an island. I used the palm tree die and a piece of scrap paper to create the tree. I covered it in black ink, and then decided to step up the palm tree just a bit!



I covered my palm tree in a layer of shimmer pen and then applied a thick coat of glossy accents to the top. I then stamped a sentiment from the Tropically Yours set before gluing the panel on to a cut and scored 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base to finish things off!
