Studio Katia June 2020 Release Blog Hop

Hello, Everyone!

Thanks so much for joining our blog hop today! You should have arrived from Tracy Freeman's blog.

Studio Katia has a fun new release with some exciting products - including a brand new 6x6 paper pad and slimline card dies!

For today's card, I decided to use the new Dotted Slimline Set 2 dies and the Flourishing Note stamp and die set.

I cut three different panel elements from three different pieces of colored cardstock: Blush, White, and a light gray. These were all cardstocks I had in my scrap pile and any color would work for this design!

After glueing the two smaller die cut pieces together, I adhered a piece of foam on the back and then glued that down to the largest die cut piece.

I then embossed the image from the stamp set on to a piece of white cardstock, used the coordinating die to cut it out, and then fussy cut around the bottom outside edge of the floral image and cut away the envelope portion of the image.

I glued down the floral images to the top and bottom portions of the card and then finished off the card by die cutting a "hello" sentiment and gluing it down, centered on the card.

Studio Katia is giving away a $50 Gift Certificate on their blog! Hop along to each design team member's blog and leave a comment on their post. All comments must be left by Friday, July 3rd, 2020, 11:59 PM EST and all winners will be announced on Sunday, July 5th, 2020 on the Studio Katia Blog.

Thank you so much for stopping by and happy hopping!

Brutus Monroe Blog Hop--Anything Goes!

Hey there, Crafters!

I'm so pleased to be invited on to the Brutus Monroe blog hop today! When you've got an "Anything Goes" theme, it's hard not to feel inspired to create!

For today's card, I used some new to me shades of alcohol inks! I laid down some alcohol ink blending solution first on alcohol ink glossy cardstock, and then dropped in a few drops of each color and used my mouth to gently blow them in different directions to blend them together.

I them stamped the main floral image from the Botanical Banners set with Versamark ink on to vellum paper, and then heat embossed it with Vintage Pearl embossing powder.

And then I cut this image out using a coordinating die--JUST KIDDING!!! I actually just fussy cut it out, with a border, to make it look like it was a die. This is a technique I've really fallen in love with recently.

After gluing the floral vellum piece on to the alcohol ink panel, I trimmed down the panel and them mounted it with foam on to a gray cut and scored 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base.

To finish off the card, I stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set in Juniper Mist ink and cut it out, then I glued it on to the card with foam tape on the back.

Be sure to check out the rest of the inspirational creations from everyone else on the hop, 'cause you won't want to miss these projects!

Craft Stash Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to my blog!

We've got such a fun hop lined up for you today, but before I get to the card let me rabbit trail for a minute.

I'm SO thankful to have found this wonderful crafting community. So many people that I've never even met have been some of the kindest I know. Crafty friends are some of my favorite people to just sit around and gab with. During a recent gab session I was having with some of my crafty friends on the Catherine Pooler team, this idea to do a blog hop that utilizes our hoarded crafty stash was born!

So today I am using some products from Ranger that I bought a long time ago but just haven't used yet. Let me tell you....I think these stamp sets are the best kept secret in the stamping community! The price point is truly unbeatable and I just LOVE the handlettered look of these sets.

For today's card, I used my alcohol inks, a floral image from the Catherine Pooler Bloomin' Bouquet stamp set, and the Thank You Letter It stamp set

I started out by applying multiple colors of alcohol inks on to Yupo paper. I then used my floral image stamp along with some Archival ink to create the ghost floral images. I trimmed down the alcohol ink panel and then set glued it down flat on to a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base and set it aside.

I took a white piece of cardstock and used a 4-bar rectangle die from Lawn Fawn to cut a window/frame piece. I then cut a piece of acetate out for the purpose of creating a clear window. I applied an anti static tool to the front and then stamped my thanks sentiment in Versamark Ink. I applied Liquid Platinum embossing powder and then heat set it.

I adhered my clear acetate piece to the pack of my window piece that I created. I applied some foam tape to the border of the window panel and then laid it down on to my card base which had the alcohol ink piece glued on to it already.

I love creating these window cards because I love the dimension that the foam tape gives to the frame piece and the shadows that the bold embossing gives on to the alcohol ink piece below.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I hope this has inspired you to drag out some of your items in your crafty stash that you haven't tried yet!
